Faith is the qualification for bhakti. One aspect of faith is faith in the statements of the scripture. So if we accept the statements of the scripture that's a good qualification for advancing which means that in one sense we suspend our material judgement and material logic when we come to scripture. It is not blind faith because it is believing in scriptures - the bhakti scriptures. And if we accept them we can advance. The question comes then why at all we should develop faith in these things. This is a matter of good fortune only. Not all people accept scriptures they reject them saying it's all imagination. It is actually mercy over lifetimes that we develop that faith. Once we get faith we accept. Then we don't have difficulty in accommodating the seemingly contradictory statements in Bhagavatam including the fifth canto description of the universe. They look contradictory because of our material logic. We can accept them because they are part of scripture and we have accepted scripture as our authority.
